     The NATIONAL ZOO in Washington, D.C., has webcams that make it possible for you, in your home, to watch elephants, cheetahs, and even Amazon River fish just being themselves.

     And then there’s those lovable pandas. Tai Shan, Washington’s so-popular baby, has turned into a big boy, but he’s still charming the crowds. The site says, “He has days of being very alert and wildly playful, followed by a day or two of quiet and rest. On Tuesday, he was playing with a plastic trash can dribbled with honey when he decided to take a rest right inside with only his rear end exposed.”

WILD ANIMAL CAMS AROUND THE WORLD

     Watch webcams of wild birds and animals from around the world, from the NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC. Because these birds and animals are NOT in zoos to be stared at, they appear and disappear as the mood strikes them, which of course makes it much more interesting if you happen to be watching when the lion comes to the waterhole – and much more likely that the waterhold is just sitting there.
